Don Sheppard
Don Sheppard is an experienced consultant who has worked in communications and information technology for almost 40 years. He is viewed by clients and colleagues as a capable, conscientious, results-oriented consultant, advisor, author and facilitator.
Don's consulting assignments have covered a broad range of topics relating to IT services, architectures, assets, costing, procurement and management.
Areas of recent focus for Don have been the transition to service-based IT management and the emerging paradigm called Cloud Computing.
Don has been a long time supporter and promoter of IT industry standards, originally for Open Systems Interconnection but more recently in the area of Cloud Computing. Don's standardization interests lean towards infrastructures, public services (e.g., social networking), media convergence and quality of service.
One of Don's key strengths is his ability to "bridge" the gap between the technology of IT and the processes of technical management. Developing roadmaps, architectures, services, infrastructures and their integration into technical plans and strategies are areas where Don's experience has proven valuable to his clients.
